Casino Royale...not a 'Bond' movie

The least 'James Bond'ish movies of the franchise. A cheesy, wimpy, 'feel sorry for me' image that has never been toyed with. Maybe the good ol' MCPs were better suited or maybe we got used to the good ol' MCPs as the 007s. From the titles (no naked chicks....what's up with that??!! who the fuck from SFO designed it....) to end credits, apart from the 'urban jungle trekkers' running scenes, nothing much. No 'Q', no gadgets...unless you consider the Ashton Martin to be one (now, trashing *that* craft was nice).

Blonde bond....screw that! The least favored (less than Timothy Dalton?) probably.

Babel

From Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, Babel reminds 'crash'. Vivid backgrounds, common problems. Person next to you might be miles away from you as well when you can't 'reach out'. High importance to each individual story line, with the familiar 'Amores Perros' pace. Gustavo Santaolalla works his music again, a good piece for end credits.

Waking Life

"The trick is to combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams. Because, if you can do that, you can do anything."

Bits and pieces of 'theory' talks. Reminds 'Coffee and Cigarettes'...

Waking Life : A Scanner Darkly :: Existenz : The Matrix

Caveh seems to pop up everywhere. First there's I'm a Sex Addict
(well, okay...I agree. It's not a coincidence that he's in this one...) which incidentally kinda feels like an over-narrated movie (? if we can call it a movie) about seemingly simple things and then there's Citizen Ruth where out of the blue he's got a cameo role(along with a bunch of other 'stars' that you wouldn't expect to pop up) but the movie itself is timeless though...being in a 'Red' state it's just so funny to watch the two sides haggle on pro-life/choice completely sidelining the individual; and then Waking life's got a role for him again....may be it's coincidence. Just like the way I ended up watching all pro-euthanasia movies in a row...'The Barbarian Invasions', 'The Sea Inside', 'Million Dollar Baby' etc (hey wait a minute...they've all won oscars...Wanna Kill urself?? Go For It!!).
